He died at his residence early this morning surrounded by his whole whanau, his only son, his daughters respective husbands and all their children. He is lying in state at his residence in Brind Street, Russell, and will stay there until Friday, when he will be transported to the Town Hall for the final Service. Jackie will then be taken to Long Beach urupa where he will laid to rest in the Returned Servicemen and Soldiers’ section. The hakari will be held at the Russell RSA, everybody welcome.
