Tena koe/kotou e te whanau/nga whanaunga – last night Russell
and I returned home from the last day of the Claims Hearings in
Whangaroa, but before going into detail about them, I want to pay
tribute to the kaumatua of the Tribunal, Mr Kihi Ngatai, whose wife
passed away and he was not in attendance. He was always present
at the previous Hearings as part of the Judicial team who attended, and
so his presence was missed. As additional information, he was a
kaumatua/relation of Touchen Ririnui, Maude’s husband, and so our
mihi and acknowledgment goes out to Touchen, Maude and their
whanau in their recent loss.
No reira e te Whaea tupuna/rangatira, okioki koe i nga ringaringa o
Ihoa o nga Mano, kua tu honohono nei koe i o tatou tini whanaunga
i te Ao Wairua – haere atu koe ki a ratou ma.
